The text mining research group has started its activity since 2007. With the aim of developing natural language processing tools and the interest of computer students to work in the field of Persian language processing, the Web Technology Laboratory has achieved significant achievements in the field of computational linguistics tools with the cooperation of computer and linguistic experts. With the formation of regular weekly meetings held by Dr. Kahani from the computer department of the Faculty of Engineering and Dr. Jahangiri from the prominent professors of the Linguistics Department of the Faculty of Literature with a large number of additional education students, the web technology laboratory gradually became one of the founders of this research field in the university. Computational linguistics is one of the interdisciplinary fields in computer science. The practical examples of this field are: speaker identification and its characteristics, spelling correction, machine translation, text-to-speech conversion, text summarization, question and answer systems, production of parallel and comparative structures, semantic tagger, grammatical tagger, etc. . Currently, members of the Computational Linguistics Department of the Web Technology Laboratory are working in three areas: natural language processing, text summarization and machine translation.
